Our Story


Nothing means more to Joe & Amalia than family, friends, good times and ‘great scran’. Since the day they met, their dream has always been to create the perfect combination of hearty, delicious food served in an environment which is both welcoming and homely. The Loveable Rogue is the realisation of their dream.


As a young chef Joe first worked at La Parmigiana in 2007, moving on to continue his apprenticeship at Brian Maule @ Le Chardon D’or and Number One restaurant in Edinburgh. As he matured and his expertise grew, he moved to the bright lights of London where he gained essential Michelin star experience, before eventually finding the lure of home too much and returning to Glasgow to continue his journey as a chef of exceptional skill.

Since a young age, Amalia has always had a passion and desire to work in the hospitality industry. After leaving school, she managed in her family’s restaurants, gaining essential experience and expertise to match her passion for all things culinary.

Amalia’s ambition is to create a dining environment which is both vibrant and full of energy, yet cosy and relaxed – in essence the kind of place she and Joe would want to frequent when dining out. She believes food and dining with friends & family is truly the most effective way to put a smile on people’s faces.
